Copyright Notice

1. Rights depend on the content

Original texts, translations, explanations, covers, illustrations, recordings, and creative selection, arrangement or databases may be protected to the extent recognized by law. Rights belong to VLM or the relevant rights holder. Creative translations may be protected independently of the original; recordings may involve related rights or license conditions.

We do not claim exclusive copyright in public-domain originals. Public-domain status can differ by country and does not automatically make a particular translation, recording or illustration freely reusable.

2. AI and user-created content

AI generation alone does not automatically establish copyright. Human creative contributions, editing, source-material rights and applicable licenses must be assessed separately. We do not claim blanket exclusive copyright over every AI output.

You or the rightful owner retain rights in your notes, posts and recordings. Obtain necessary permissions for others’ copyright, likeness and personal data before sharing or submitting material to AI. Paying for an AI request or spending points does not clear third-party rights.

3. Personal learning, storage and sharing

You may read and listen for personal learning within your preview, subscription or purchase entitlement. Downloads, offline caches, imports and exports must stay within the permission of the relevant feature. Holding a local file or paying a subscription does not transfer copyright.

In-app sharing, including SpoonNote, permits the sharing offered by that feature, not resale or external redistribution of entire books, translations or recordings. Lawful quotation, fair use, private copying and open-license permissions remain available subject to their conditions. Attribution or an educational purpose alone does not authorize every use.

4. Unauthorized reuse and possible liability

Unless law or a license permits the use, rights holders may seek cessation, removal, preventive relief or damages. Criminal liability requires the applicable statutory elements, including intent where required. Not every commercial use is unlawful, and no uniform fine is imposed automatically.

5. Permission requests and infringement reports

Contact us with the content, page or URL, intended purpose and distribution scope. Reports should include evidence of ownership or authority and a reply address. Do not send passwords or unnecessary identity documents. We review reports and responses before taking appropriate action.

Relevant Korean provisions include Articles 5, 35-5, 123, 125 and 136 of the Copyright Act. Applicable law and the facts determine individual disputes.
